Description

Unemployment Insurance (UI) Solvency Assessment Emergency Virtual Meeting

MA Business CALL TO ACTION

Massachusetts recently released its 2021 Unemployment Tax Rates to applicable employers. Shockingly, MA State has increased the solvency rating factor by 1600% which has resulted in many employers experiencing double, triple, or quadruple their 2020 UI tax rate!

This increase is attributed to the historical amount of unemployment claims paid during the pandemic. For some employers this means thousands of dollars, while some will experience hundreds of thousands or millions in unemployment cost increases.

Please join the ERC5, Unemployment Tax Control Associates, Inc., and A.L. Cignoli Company for a critical emergency Call to Action meeting that will:
  • Explain the solvency assessment increase and add clarity to what businesses will be liable for.
  • Help you easily identify what your business can project for UI cost increases in 2021.
  • Get insight into what business-driven and political steps are being taken NOW.
  • Provide options to business members to have their voices heard.

PLEASE NOTE –This session will allow for discussion and we encourage you to come prepared.  It may be helpful to have your current 2021 Massachusetts “Notice of Employers Unemployment Insurance Rate” to reference.  You will clearly see what content is relevant to your business. If you do not already have your 2021 Notice, you can retrieve it by:
  1. Logging into your Mass. DUA Online account HERE.
  2. Clicking on the “Correspondence” option
  3. Then selecting the date range of 4/5/2021 to the present day, selecting “other docs” in the “correspondence type” dropdown box and hitting the “Search” button
  4. Once the results appear, your notice should appear under the name “Director's Letter for Annual Rate Notice”. When you click the link a PDF of your notice will appear.
If you don’t have access to your DUA account, you may want to inquire who within your organization can assist you. If you use an outsourced payroll provider, they should also be able to provide you with your 2021 notice.

We look forward to seeing all of you on Thursday to discuss this urgent and timely issue!
