Community music festival will bring together live local bands, family activities and food while supporting opportunities for local youth
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Angela Santiago Foundation will bring music, families and the community together for Amplify the Youth, a music festival dedicated to supporting and empowering local young people, on Saturday, October 3, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 52 Sumner Avenue in Springfield.
The five-hour festival will feature live performances from local rock bands Amber Vision, Earthbound and Sleep with the Skeleton, along with a special one-time performance by I AM DISASTER. In addition to live music, guests can enjoy games, family-friendly activities, food trucks and more throughout the afternoon.
“Amplify the Youth is about creating a great day for the community while bringing attention to something that was incredibly important to Angela: helping others,” said Angela Park, Executive Director of the Angela Santiago Foundation. “Music has a unique way of bringing people together, and we hope families come out, enjoy the performances and learn more about how the Angela Santiago Foundation is investing in young people throughout our community.”
The Angela Santiago Foundation was established to honor the life and legacy of Angela Santiago, a United States Army veteran, Chicopee Police Officer and beloved member of the community whose life was defined by service, compassion and a commitment to helping others. Today, the Foundation carries that legacy forward by investing directly in youth and helping provide scholarships, financial assistance and access to programs supporting education, sports, recreation and personal growth.
Amplify the Youth will offer an opportunity for the community to support that mission while showcasing local musicians and creating an afternoon of entertainment for all ages.
“This festival represents so much of what our Foundation stands for: community, opportunity and showing young people that there are people who believe in them and want to see them succeed,” added Park. “We are excited to fill 52 Sumner with music and people who want to make a difference.”
Amplify the Youth: Music Festival Presented by the Angela Santiago Foundation will take place Saturday, October 3, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at 52 Sumner Avenue, Springfield, Massachusetts.
